Dewforge: woven fabric made from SRPP
“At TechTextil, we’ll be showcasing the new product Dewforge”, Group Sales Director Jean-Claude Abed says. “The DewForge fabric has been designed and developed as an answer to the increasing demand for lightweight cost-effective composites. It is a woven fabric made from self-reinforcing polypropylene (SRPP). The fabric is lightweight, has a good impact strength and is cost-effective. It can easily be moulded into the desired shape. The fabric doesn’t need to be layered, which reduces the processing cost, as it is less labour-intensive and it reduces the heat transfer. This versatile material serves a multitude of industries, ranging from the automotive industry over luggage to protective helmets and body armours for sports and ballistics. Automotive examples are lightweight paneling and aerodynamic deflectors, while roller and carry cases are examples of the luggage industry.”

With our technical expertise, broad range of loom types and a huge bank of different yarns, we are quite unique in the industry. “Both James Dewhurst and Veranneman Technical Textiles can bow on a team of specialist engineers, product developers, marketeers and an R&D department. Our people are ideally placed to handle any request with a multidisciplinary and cross-sectoral approach. It’s our job to work closely with our customers on a variety of new projects not just as a supplier, but also as a developer. If a customer has an unmet need, we can engineer a solution to meet their goals. We work closely with our customers to find a solution that improves and strengthens their applications.”
At Techtextil, you’ll find Jean-Claude and his team at the Sioen-booth. “Do you have an idea or project in mind that we can bring to fruition? Then pay us a visit! We will have sampling materials and can also show you the end-use product. We encourage people to meet us at the show to see if we can help them at our facilities or at another Sioen plant, as the group has a very diverse portfolio.”
