We are safetymakers

From 18 to 21 September 2019, the 126th edition of the National Congress of Firefighters of France will be held in Vannes, Morbihan (56). This tradeshow for professionals, expects no less than 40.000 visitors to attend the meetings, visit the stands of the 350 exhibitors and take part in the events.

Since 1927

Ever since our very existence, we have been exhibiting at “Congrès des Pompiers”. First with our former brand name Vidal Protection (Specialist in fire fighters' garments since 1927 and part of the Sioen group since 2001) and later with the brand Sioen Fire. For us, the “Congrès des Pompiers” is the place to be in France to have the best contacts with fire fighters. It is first and foremost a place of exchange and conviviality for the firefighters' association network of all the Departmental Fire and Rescue Services of France. As a world leading company in civil security and internal security garments, we exchange competences and ideas and show our technological advance.

Fire intervention suits

Firefighter intervention garments protect the emergency services in the event of extreme heat and flame. Our R&D team pays a lot of attention to wearing comfort, making our garments light and flexible and thus guaranteeing high freedom of movement. Excellent moisture-regulating properties reduce the risk of heat stress. By selecting sustainable materials, we create garments that offer high mechanical protection. Finally, the right choice of many finishing details and options means that you have a functional, comfortable and safe firefighter suit exceeds the requirements of the standards by far.

Our garments for direct fire intervention perfectly protect the wearer against any kind of threat. And with any, we mean any. Our 360° on all risk protective garments enables us to give protection in any working condition.

Technical rescue garments

We also design and produce specialized, multifunctional garments for non-structural and very diverse firefighting situations such as rope rescue operations, rescue in confined space, Urban Search & Rescue (USAR) and flood rescue. Our technical rescue suits are ergonomically designed for a perfect sfit. They are lightweight and very comfortable.

Technical rescue garments offer protection from the hazardous environment of rescue operations (ex-structural fire) including protection from rubble, sharp metal and glass, blood borne pathogens and a range of hydrocarbon fluids and chemicals.

Our technical rescue garments are light and flexible and allow rescue workers agility and dexterity when they work in confined spaces. They have a high tear and puncture resistant outer layer with an inner breathable moisture barrier and have additional protective padding at elbows and knees.

Focus on extra risks

Our expertise in producing professional protective garments, allows us to excel in incorporating extra protection in fire intervention suits or in offering add on solutions for extra protection. Hence, we can offer a full range of garments protecting fire fighters in any working condition. At the “ Congrès des Pompiers” fair, we will also display our solutions for marine responses and car crash intervention where chainsaws are used. These present additional challenges and significant extra risks to the fire fighter. We will showcase garments for Marine Incident Response Teams, offshore fire fighters and fire task forces on vessels and ships (both cargo and passengers). These garments are SOLAS approved (Safety of Life at Sea). RITs (Rapid Intervention Teams) on fire brigades on land and offshore also need diving suits to execute under water rescue operations.
