Sioen Apparel set a goal to produce 20% less CO2 emissions before the end of 2020 in comparison to the reference year of 2010. Guess what? We will certainly reach this goal! The final results will be communicated before February 2021.
Sioen Apparel diminished its energy use by 3.67% in 2019.
The goal was to use 2% less water in 2019. The result? Sioen Apparel managed to reduce its water use by 7.7%!
Sioen Apparel’s green FEET award diploma shows that 3880 kg of electrical appliances and electronic equipment was collected in 2019.
Sending 1 email equals about 4 g CO2? That’s why at Sioen we’re all set on digital workspaces through Teams amongst others.
Laptops use 50 to 80% less energy than desktops? Remove the charger once the device is fully charged and extend its lifespan! At the same time, you can lower your electricity bill by doing so. That’s why we’re planning to replace old desktops by laptops.
Washing clothes at 30°C consumes three times less energy than at 90°C and two times less at 40°C.
While producing a 155 gram white cotton T-shirt, 6.5 kg of CO2 is emitted. This is 10 times more than for an equivalent T-shirt made from ecological cotton and with renewable energy.
Cycling 10 km every day instead of travelling by car reduces your annual emissions with 700 kg of CO2.
Approximately 160 g of CO2 is needed to produce a 1 litre plastic bottle, which is the equivalent of emissions from a 1 km car journey. That’s why at Sioen HQ we started a pilot program with tap water instead. All of our employees have a glass bottle they can fill at any time.
